About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing process
  • Build strong supplier relationships
  • Serve as the main point of contact for order inquiries
  • Create, process, and manage purchase orders (POs)
  • Monitor order status and proactively follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Review inventory levels and demand signals within the MRP/ERP system
  • Analyze inventory requirements to prevent stockouts or excess inventory
  • Monitor office supply inventory and proactively replenish supplies
  • Perform regular inventory counts and support cycle counting processes
  • Prepare and kit electronic components for shipment to contract manufacturers
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align purchasing and production needs
  • Assist in vendor selection and evaluation in accordance with QMS requirements
  • Support supplier performance monitoring
  • Resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, or deliveries
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor data
  • Assist in sourcing new suppliers and obtaining quotes
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certificate, diploma, or equivalent training and/or experience in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
  • Experience working with electronic components or in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) is an asset
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma is an asset
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and supplier evaluation processes is an asset
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and supply planning
  • Excellent communication and vendor management skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple orders in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed purchasing decisions
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve order and supply issues efficiently
