About the role
- The Financial Reporting Manager oversees the preparation, analysis, and delivery of timely and accurate financial reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- This role manages reporting processes, supports both internal and external audits, leads process improvements, etc.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and corporate policies.
- Prepare/review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Oversee consolidation and reporting of multiple entities, including intercompany eliminations.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly/annual reporting packages for management and external stakeholders, including financial institutions and government agencies.
- Be main point of contact for external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and support implementation of new reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
- Maintain strong internal controls and support SOX compliance (if applicable).
- Assist with system enhancements related to the financial close and reporting processes.
- Partner with FP&A, Tax, Operations, and other teams to ensure complete and accurate reporting.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 5–7+ years of progressive accounting/reporting experience; public accounting or corporate reporting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff a plus.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills; experience with consolidation/reporting tools preferred. SAP and group reporting experience a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner to meet internal deadlines.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.
- Candidate must possess capability to manage large volumes of data through general ledger and financial statement preparation in a multiple company environment.
