Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of permanent and traveling exhibits at the Orlando Science Center.
Start up or shut down OSC’s exhibits.
Routinely performs general cleaning, dusting, and organizing of exhibit components, exhibit halls and shop.
Proactively identify exhibit weak points and make recommendations to prevent exhibit downtime to the Manager of Exhibits.
Troubleshoot and diagnose a range of technologies, including but not limited to PC’s, microcontrollers, input devices, A/V devices, projectors, solid state players, mechanical systems, relays, and software diagnostics.
Follow established safety protocol when using tools, such as soldering iron, multimeter, and other various hand tools.
Identify any exhibit safety issues and immediately report to the Manager of Exhibits.
Document all work in a computer database.
Able to work independently.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years in related field of PC, A/V or electronic setup and repair.
Previous experience working with hand tools, drills, multimeter and soldering iron is preferred.
