About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct on-site surveys, including detailed noise surveys and visual walk-around surveys for proposed renewable energy sites
- Conduct site surveys supporting hydrology and transport teams when required
- Analyse data and contribute to clear, high-quality technical reports for planning purposes
- Conduct technical assessments for renewable energy, industrial, commercial, construction and residential projects
- Complete BS4142, BS5228 and BS8233 noise assessments
- Support Senior Environmental/Engineering Consultants
- Use industry and in-house software packages
- Engage with in-house multidisciplinary team members
- Liaise with sister companies, clients and local authorities
- Develop acoustics skills through site work, modelling, analysis and report writing with mentoring and training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed degree, preferably in acoustics, or in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related STEM subject
- Relevant experience in acoustics or a general physics-based background ideally
- Studied an acoustics-related course ideally
- Ability to work independently when necessary and meet tight deadlines under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Full UK clean driving licence
- Flexibility and willingness to travel
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Own transport required within 3 months of starting
