About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct on-site surveys, including detailed noise surveys and visual walk-around surveys for proposed renewable energy sites
  • Conduct site surveys supporting hydrology and transport teams when required
  • Analyse data and contribute to clear, high-quality technical reports for planning purposes
  • Conduct technical assessments for renewable energy, industrial, commercial, construction and residential projects
  • Complete BS4142, BS5228 and BS8233 noise assessments
  • Support Senior Environmental/Engineering Consultants
  • Use industry and in-house software packages
  • Engage with in-house multidisciplinary team members
  • Liaise with sister companies, clients and local authorities
  • Develop acoustics skills through site work, modelling, analysis and report writing with mentoring and training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed degree, preferably in acoustics, or in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related STEM subject
  • Relevant experience in acoustics or a general physics-based background ideally
  • Studied an acoustics-related course ideally
  • Ability to work independently when necessary and meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
  • Full UK clean driving licence
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Own transport required within 3 months of starting
