About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair bulk explosives pumping equipment and associated mechanical systems used in underground mining operations.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability and availability.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults, supporting operational continuity and minimising downtime.
Assist in identifying and resolving electrical and PLC-related issues where required, collaborating with specialist support teams as necessary.
Support maintenance planning and execution activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to maintenance call-outs outside standard working hours when required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Work collaboratively across site functions, supporting operational requirements beyond core trade responsibilities when needed.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environment and Security (SHES) standards, policies, and procedures.
Align all activities with Orica’s Charter Values, Purpose, and Strategy.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Relevant trade qualification, diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Maintenance or a related discipline.
Experience working in industrial, mining, heavy equipment, maintenance, or similar environments.
Experience maintaining pumps, hydraulic systems, rotating equipment, or similar mechanical systems.
Previous underground mining experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of electrical systems, industrial controls, or PLCs would be highly advantageous.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
Ability to work independently and safely in a remote operational environment.
Strong work ethic and willingness to contribute across multiple operational activities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
