About the role
- Provide technical support and design services for mobile equipment, delivery systems, and fixed plant installations.
- Ensure compliance with Orica’s standards and regulatory requirements while driving safety, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver cost-effective, high-quality engineering solutions.
- Lead by example in safety execution and uphold Orica’s SH&E standards.
- Provide mechanical engineering support for capital projects and existing assets.
- Engage and manage design resources to execute works efficiently.
- Participate in design reviews, hazard studies, and audits.
- Prepare mechanical design estimates and manage drafting resources.
- Drive business improvement initiatives and support regional engineering and Capex planning.
- Execute commissioning and handover of projects and modified assets.
Requirements
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum 5 years’ professional engineering experience.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements and engineering theory across disciplines.
- Experience in project management and managing small teams.
- RPEQ accreditation preferred (or willingness to work towards it).
- Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and innovation.
- Ability to build trust, demonstrate integrity, and work collaboratively.
