About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate and interpret legal documents and stakeholder communications in support of 2-4 Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) to determine and implement appropriate processing decisions based on applicable statutes, rules, and agency policies and procedures
  • Serve as liaison between the parties and the ALJs and Workers’ Compensation Hearings Division to interpret and resolve problems through negotiation
  • Be responsible for complete working knowledge of applicable statutes, rules and policies as they apply to various situations that arise from processing legal documents, telephone requests and contacts with outside stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two years associate degree in Paralegal or Legal Assistant Studies OR Eighteen months of paralegal experience OR Any combination of training and experience that demonstrates experience in legal work, independent judgment, legal terminology principles, concepts, systems, and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with legal and medical terminology
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining accuracy
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to accept guidance, embrace change, and contribute positively to a dynamic work environment
  • Outstanding attendance and reliability
