About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support transportation growth management goals and objectives, set priorities and allocate resources within the region.
  • Communicate program objectives with local communities and help them understand program and grant requirements.
  • Evaluate and award transportation growth management grant applications.
  • Develop transportation growth management agreements, scopes of work and work order contracts to deliver projects, and complete project closeout for grants and contracts.
  • Manage and monitor progress on grants for compliance with policies, procedures, timelines and grant terms.
  • Negotiate with consultants and local agencies on breakdown of costs to complete projects and recommend invoice approval for consultant payments.
  • Assist local agencies in developing scopes of work for transportation system planning preparation.
  • Review draft plans for compliance and analyze the impact of policy decisions and legislation for planning projects.
  • Manage regional long range planning projects.
  • Review development proposals.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Six years of planning experience related to the job.
  • A bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field AND three years of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job.
  • A master’s degree in regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record.
