About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support transportation growth management goals and objectives, set priorities and allocate resources within the region.
Communicate program objectives with local communities and help them understand program and grant requirements.
Evaluate and award transportation growth management grant applications.
Develop transportation growth management agreements, scopes of work and work order contracts to deliver projects, and complete project closeout for grants and contracts.
Manage and monitor progress on grants for compliance with policies, procedures, timelines and grant terms.
Negotiate with consultants and local agencies on breakdown of costs to complete projects and recommend invoice approval for consultant payments.
Assist local agencies in developing scopes of work for transportation system planning preparation.
Review draft plans for compliance and analyze the impact of policy decisions and legislation for planning projects.
Manage regional long range planning projects.
Review development proposals.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Six years of planning experience related to the job.
A bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field AND three years of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job.
A master’s degree in regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record.
