Senior Planner – Transportation, Growth Management
Oregon Department of Human ServicesSenior Region 4 Planner collaborating with various partners for transportation management. Support transportation system development in Oregon's Region 4 with strategic planning and project implementation.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support transportation growth management goals and objectives, set priorities and allocate resources within the region.
- Communicate program objectives with local communities and help them understand program and grant requirements.
- Evaluate and award transportation growth management grant applications.
- Develop transportation growth management agreements, scopes of work and work order contracts to deliver projects, and complete project closeout for grants and contracts.
- Manage and monitor progress on grants for compliance with policies, procedures, timelines and grant terms.
- Negotiate with consultants and local agencies on breakdown of costs to complete projects and recommend invoice approval for consultant payments.
- Assist local agencies in developing scopes of work for transportation system planning preparation.
- Review draft plans for compliance and analyze the impact of policy decisions and legislation for planning projects.
- Manage regional long range planning projects.
- Review development proposals.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Six years of planning experience related to the job.
- A bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field AND three years of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job.
- A master’s degree in regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
- Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record.
