About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Appeals and Special Advocacy Division, and County and Tribal Veteran Service Offices, by performing claims processing, data entry, and quality assurance functions.
  • Monitor multiple electronic databases.
  • Fulfill file research requests.
  • Transmit all required casework to the USDVA.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two years of general clerical experience including keyboarding, word processing, or experience generating documents; OR an associate degree in any field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated professional, thoughtful, and effective communication and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to accurately process high-volume, detail-oriented work while meeting strict deadlines
  • Proficient in keyboarding, data entry, and maintaining accurate records
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Experience using VetraSpec, VBMS, or similar case management systems.
  • Successful completion of a fingerprint based criminal history background check through Oregon (LEDS) and National (NCIC) law enforcement data systems.
  • A valid Oregon or Washington State driver’s license is required; must also undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
