About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor available allotment to ensure sufficient expenditure authority is available each quarter
  • Prepare draft quarterly allotment plans reviewed and approved by the Senior Budget Analyst.
  • Assist in updating cost allocation spreadsheets.
  • Prepare monthly budget status reports for small programs or divisions.
  • Assist with preparing the agency’s budget documents.
  • Monitor deadlines and send out inquiries for essential materials.
  • Update organization charts, program narratives, and charts/graphs.
  • Prepare and update bi-monthly personal services projections for review by Senior Budget Analyst.
  • Update Workday position coding and generate personnel related reports as needed.
  • Maintain position tracking spreadsheet and prepare financial reports as requested by management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience that included the preparation, analysis, and administration of a budget or fiscal system.
  • Five years of professional-level experience in accounting, fiscal auditing, management or program analysis.
  • Experience must have included modeling, forecasting and analyzing fiscal information.
  • Successful completion of the Department of Administrative Services Budget and Management Public Administrative Trainee Program.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public or Non-Profit Management, Finance, Accounting or a related degree may substitute for three years of the required experience.
  • A graduate-level degree in any of the above areas may substitute for four of the five years.
