About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the administrative work of the Executive Director’s Office and ensure efficient service for the Office of the Executive Director, Board of Pharmacy, and the public ensuring the Executive Director can focus where they are needed most.
- Responsibilities require tact, discretion, diplomacy, initiative, and independent judgment, as well as knowledge of State activities and a strong ability to implement agency administrative procedures.
- Provides a vital communications link between the Board, Executive Director, legislators, senior leadership team, and the public in carrying out the goals and objectives of the agency.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four years of staff-level experience providing administrative support to management.
- The experience must include technical or analytical duties in the management of program goals and objectives; performing program or project planning; preparing, monitoring, or controlling budgets; or performing research and providing analytical information and/or recommendations used in management decision making.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration or a closely-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.
- Excellent managerial ability and understanding of state government processes including budget preparation, financial management and public relations.
- Possess a familiarity with Oregon's legislative process and the Oregon Administrative Procedures Act, as well as some practical experience in administrative processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
- Broad understanding of State functions and the competence to exercise duties with discretion and independence.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently, pivot quickly, and maintain effective communication with diverse parties.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong internal and external partnerships.
