Key responsibilities & impact

Support and strengthen the Governor’s legislative agenda
Coordinate the Governor’s legislative strategy
Monitor bills throughout the legislative process
Assist with developing, advancing, and managing policy initiatives
Track legislative deadlines and identify emerging issues
Ensure the Governor’s priorities are represented and implemented
Build and maintain working relationships with various stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

Seven years of executive-level policy development experience
Direct experience working with the Legislature or supporting legislative operations during session
Background in legislative affairs within a state agency or advocacy organization
Proven ability to work effectively with legislators, legislative staff, lobbyists, and policy advocates
Strong familiarity with legislative procedures and processes
Demonstrated success stewarding complex policy proposals through the legislative process
Excellent judgment, communication skills, and political awareness
