About the role
- This is a hybrid position offering significant work-from-home flexibility.
- The portfolio for this position can include a variety program policy work related.
- This position serves as the primary point of contact for state legislators and other elected officials on issues related to this position’s portfolio.
- The Senior Policy Advisor also facilitates high-level ships with key stakeholders to develop and implement state and federal policy initiatives.
- This person works to facilitate consensus and reconcile policy and program conflicts with outside organizations.
- This position reports directly to the Director of Government Relations within the External Relations Division.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and five years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
- Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
- Expertise in Health Policy.
- Demonstrated experience developing, analyzing, and advancing health policies, particularly within complex public health or governmental systems.
- High-Level Government Relations Experience.
- Proven ability to serve as a primary liaison to state legislators and elected officials, including navigating legislative processes and representing organizational priorities effectively.
- Strong capacity to build, manage, and sustain high-level relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, advocacy groups, and community partners.
- Ability to facilitate collaboration, reconcile competing policy or program interests, and drive alignment across internal teams and external organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leadership, advise decision-makers, and translate complex policy issues into clear, actionable guidance.
