About the role

  • Conduct analyses of complex systems and programs including the interaction of various OED programs
  • Conduct and coordinate comprehensive studies and reviews of fiscal, policy, and operational issues
  • Track and analyze state and federal law and determine implications for the department
  • Review legislative proposals; analyze the budget of the Department
  • Develop, interpret, and monitor the budget
  • Monitor, evaluate, and revise financial operations for compliance with legal, federal, and state regulations
  • Develop strategies with managers to meet budget targets while meeting operational needs
  • Review and revise policy analysis and complete fiscal analysis in preparation for legislative sessions.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience that included the preparation, analysis, and administration of a budget or fiscal system
  • Experience must have included modeling and forecasting fiscal information
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Public or Non-Profit Management, Finance, Accounting or a related degree may substitute for three (3) years of the required experience
  • A graduate-level degree may substitute for four (4) of the six years.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring accuracy and precision in all work
  • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving by anticipating challenges and taking initiative to implement solutions
  • Ability to effectively organize tasks and resources while managing projects of varying complexity
