Key responsibilities & impact

Support the accounting and financial operations of Orbital Engineering, Inc., Valve48, and EIP
Manage day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, budgeting, month-end close, and compliance across multiple entities
Ensure accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Assist with the day-to-day accounting and financial operations
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of operating results against budget
Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Support compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit preparation and related documentation
Partner with operational leaders to provide financial information and support business decision-making
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies
Assist with cash flow monitoring and financial planning activities
Support the development and mentoring of accounting staff as the department grows

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
Finance or Accounting degree is preferred
Five to ten years of experience in a senior level finance or accounting position
CPA is preferred
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
