About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the accounting and financial operations of Orbital Engineering, Inc., Valve48, and EIP
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, budgeting, month-end close, and compliance across multiple entities
- Ensure accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Assist with the day-to-day accounting and financial operations
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of operating results against budget
- Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit preparation and related documentation
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial information and support business decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and financial planning activities
- Support the development and mentoring of accounting staff as the department grows
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
- Finance or Accounting degree is preferred
- Five to ten years of experience in a senior level finance or accounting position
- CPA is preferred
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
