About the role
- Provide technical support and direction for our Transmission Line Engineering and Design team.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of team personnel to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Directs and/or provides technical leadership to team for engineering design and construction functions.
- Utilizes thorough understanding of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Standards, Client Standards, State or Local Municipal Guidelines, and/or other applicable guidelines.
- Manages team productivity and ensures projects are closed out and invoiced accordingly.
- Supports leadership team with client onboarding, contract negotiations, and extended relationship development.
- Schedules work according to contractual agreements and assigns team personnel.
- Responsible for development of customer proposals, including detailed technical scope, schedule, budget, and resource management.
- Regularly interfaces directly with clients or contractors.
- Complete quality assurance practices on team deliverables to ensure highest quality product possible.
- Conducts performance evaluations for department team members.
- Design transmission lines in voltage ranges from 69kV to 765kV.
- Perform structural analysis and design of transmission structures.
- Complete conductor selection studies, grounding, shielding, and induction studies.
- Utility PLS-CADD to complete transmission structure and line design, sag analysis, and profile drawings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline with 7+ years of experience in transmission line design.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, RISA, STAAD Pro, Sag10, and PLS-TOWER.
- Must be an organized person who can keep data organized from start to finish on a project
- Ability to prioritize work on multiple projects and effectively communicate project statuses
- Computer proficiency including general Microsoft Office products, design, and business enterprise software
- Effective written and oral communication at all levels within an organizational structure
- Must have dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license with insurance
- Must be able to pass a fit for duty test
- Ability to work from home and an office setting, as required
- This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.
