About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain resin systems, vacuum loaders, and clean filters, making necessary repairs.
  • Ensure the upkeep of support equipment such as tape feeders, spiral units, extruders, vacuum tanks, pullers, reelers, air systems, and water systems.
  • Provide assistance to all departments during breakdowns.
  • Perform tooling changes for the extrusion department as required by order changes.
  • Utilize a volt meter to check and replace fuses, motor starters, relays, pumps, motors, and troubleshoot faulty electric circuits.
  • Assist the general maintenance crew in equipment rebuilds, plant shutdowns, and new equipment installations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety requirements for the position.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of two years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
  • Skills and knowledge base assesment testing will be conducted at local technical school.
  • Ability to perform simple math and take measurements, understanding basic tool use.
  • Capability to read and comprehend work instructions and safety documents.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of power transmission equipment, including bearings, gears, sprockets, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and pumps.
  • Proficiency in using various hand and power tools required for the position, including wrenches, torches, volt meters, drill press, and band saw.
  • Some electrical ability is preferred.
  • Familiarity with plumbing.
  • Good knowledge of state and local safety codes.
