About the role
- Serve as the primary civil/structural/architectural engineering expert, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with company objectives throughout the capital investment program
- Advise the Engineering Manager and Project Manager on deviations from design standards, industry codes, and Project engineering practices, and support the resolution of non-conformances
- Oversee contractor engineering and field construction activities to ensure facilities meet all specified requirements, providing timely interpretation and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Ensure the technical quality and integrity of civil/structural/architectural designs for project facilities align with the Project Execution Plan and company standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering is required
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in civil/structural/architectural engineering within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of international engineering codes and standards, foundation and structural design, seismic and dynamic analysis, and construction practices
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and with geographically diverse contractors and vendors.
- Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws): Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments, which may include navigating uneven surfaces, climb stairs or ladders, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Visual acuity is sufficient to read technical drawings, review construction work, and operate standard office and field equipment
- Must be able to travel to project sites as needed
- Proficiency in English is required (written and verbal).
