About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Teach four courses per semester across the areas of communication, strategic communication, strategic media, journalism, and debate.
The ability to contribute to the management and advising of the debate team or student newspaper is a plus.
Teach at the undergraduate and graduate level courses in both face-to-face and virtual modalities.
Advising undergraduate and graduate students.
Connect students with and review internship opportunities.
Engage in scholarly research, presentations, and publications and in professional development activities.
Be involved in university activities such as faculty meetings, committee meetings, retreats, and chapel services.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A Ph.D. in Communication or terminal degree in a closely related discipline is preferred.
ABD candidates may also be considered.
Integrating a Spirit-empowered Christian faith in the classroom.
Have a demonstrated history of or potential for successful and excellent teaching and student engagement.
