Plan, install, configure, upgrade, and administer MS SQL databases in both operational and analytical environments
Monitor database health, performance, and security; apply patches and ensure compliance with organizational standards
Collaborate with data analysts, data modelers, and engineers to support data lake, business intelligence and analytic needs
Create and manage database objects (schemas, tables, views, procedures)
Recommend indexes, partitions, and other techniques to optimize data structures and improve query performance
Participate in database migrations and refresh non-production environments with production data
Author and maintain documentation for database configurations, policies, and procedures
Contribute to backup, fail-over, and disaster recovery strategies
Support production on-call rotation for database administration

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information systems, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
4 years of professional or high-level technical work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree
An associate’s degree with two years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
SENIOR: 2 years of MS SQL Server Database Administration experience
PRINCIPAL: 3-5 years of MS SQL Server Database Administration experience
Strong knowledge of database administration and development, especially MS SQL Server
Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, shell scripting, and networking
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
Familiarity with data warehouse/data lake standards as well as associated business intelligence tools.
