Grant Development Consultant responsible for researching and writing grant applications for funding opportunities. Collaborating with leadership to ensure sustainable funding sources and reporting to funders.

About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conducting initial and periodic review of upcoming foundation-based/philanthropic funding opportunities for eligibility, sustainability, and organizational alignment;
Preparing three to five well-researched grant applications on a monthly basis and supporting documentation in compliance with funding requirements;
Coordinating with executive leadership and department administrators to identify organization projects that are compatible with available funding sources;
Tracking the status of grant applications and providing additional information as required;
Working with appropriate personnel to expedite internal processing of grant proposals, including assessing internal and external data, developing grant budgets, and building compelling narratives;
Working with internal departments to create and distribute reports, studies, summaries, and analyses as part of awarded-grant compliance.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
Excellent comprehension and writing skills;
Minimum of three years of professional-level experience related to grant proposal writing and research;
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams);
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and orally;
Knowledge of education, early care and learning, or related industry;
Strong research abilities;
Meticulous attention to detail;
Operational and fiscal analysis;
Advanced knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to philanthropic contracts and grants;
Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad impact and implications;
Proven track record in grant writing;
California driver’s license, available use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance;
Master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
