About the role
- Conducting initial and periodic review of upcoming foundation-based/philanthropic funding opportunities for eligibility, sustainability, and organizational alignment;
- Preparing three to five well-researched grant applications on a monthly basis and supporting documentation in compliance with funding requirements;
- Coordinating with executive leadership and department administrators to identify organization projects that are compatible with available funding sources;
- Tracking the status of grant applications and providing additional information as required;
- Working with appropriate personnel to expedite internal processing of grant proposals, including assessing internal and external data, developing grant budgets, and building compelling narratives;
- Working with internal departments to create and distribute reports, studies, summaries, and analyses as part of awarded-grant compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
- Excellent comprehension and writing skills;
- Minimum of three years of professional-level experience related to grant proposal writing and research;
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams);
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and orally;
- Knowledge of education, early care and learning, or related industry;
- Strong research abilities;
- Meticulous attention to detail;
- Operational and fiscal analysis;
- Advanced knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to philanthropic contracts and grants;
- Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad impact and implications;
- Proven track record in grant writing;
- California driver’s license, available use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance;
- Master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
