About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day clinical support for parenteral nutrition patients
- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate nutrition care plans
- Provide nutrition education and guidance to patients, caregivers, and clinical staff
- Review new enteral and parenteral patients and orders for clinical appropriateness, safety, formulary compliance, and reimbursement considerations
- Coordinate and support parenteral and enteral nutrition therapy in the home setting
- Participate in or lead PN patient discussions during team meetings and collaborate with pharmacy and nursing teams
- Support nutrition-related sales activity, account relationships, strategic sales planning, and program implementation
- Liaise with physicians, nutrition support teams, customers, and sales staff
- Monitor clinical performance indicators and define and implement action plans for improvement
- Develop and deliver continuing education, orientation, and in-service education programs
- Assist with orientation and training of Registered Dietitians, sales professionals, and related staff
- Use clinical data to identify nutrition-related problems, select interventions, and track progress
- Document assessment findings and patient progress in medical records
- Participate in professional organizations and the on-call Dietitian Rotation
- Safeguard confidential patient and proprietary information
- Perform other assigned responsibilities and duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Dietitian with a license/certification in the current state of practice, as appropriate
- Two years of experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition as a nutrition support professional
- Board Certification in Nutrition Support or intent to receive it within 1 year of hire
- Current CPR certification if patient facing
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory and attend required meetings
- Leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate clinical programs
- Ability to educate and empower staff to implement nutrition service processes in the home care setting
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-directed and able to work without the presence of an immediate supervisor
- Intermediate competency with Microsoft Office software
- Ability to work under stressful conditions
- Board Certification in nutrition support, previous home health experience, and sales and marketing experience are preferred
- Advanced degree in nutrition or business preferred
