About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the compounding technician II works in a clean room compounding medication at least 50% of the time.
Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies.
Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations.
Assists with ensuring quality standards are met.
Ensures all compounding and packaging is inspected and approved by a licensed pharmacist.
Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
Calibrates equipment to ensure accurate functioning.
Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs.
Trains and mentors Compounding Technician I's.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
Excellent organizational skills.
Basic level skill in Microsoft Word.
Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel.
Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint.
