About the role
- Draft and prepare family law documents, including petitions, motions, disclosures, and settlement agreements.
- Manage electronic filing and maintain organized case records in compliance with California court requirements.
- Conduct legal research to support filings, hearings, and case strategies.
- Communicate with clients professionally and empathetically for intake, updates, and follow-ups.
- Track and manage case calendars, deadlines, and hearing schedules.
- Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and third parties as needed.
- Provide ongoing administrative and legal support to enhance attorney efficiency.
- Remote collaboration with a family law attorney; must work Pacific Time hours.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on paralegal experience in California family law.
- Proven ability to work remotely with attorneys in a law firm or similar legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of California court rules, family law procedures, and e-filing systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in client-facing interactions.
- Proficiency in case management software and other legal technology tools.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Must be available to work during Pacific Time (California business hours).
- Full-time availability: 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday.
