About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, approach, and connect with dealerships for business development and portfolio expansion
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients within an assigned book of business
  • Facilitate communication across departments to provide efficient solutions to client issues
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of products, industry trends, and other developments
  • Understand and react to the competitive landscape
  • Document customer interactions and maintain accurate CRM records
  • Adapt to changing priorities and support unexpected situations
  • Accommodate client needs, including travel within the assigned book of business
  • Lead acquisition efforts, meet with key accounts, facilitate regional conferences, and coach best practices
  • Provide customers with tools and information to use OPENLANE software successfully
  • Build growing and profitable long-term relationships with key accounts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 2 years of outside sales or business development experience
  • 2–3+ years in a customer-focused, industry-specific, or account management position preferred
  • Superior communication skills and ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
  • Demonstrable knowledge of CRM tools; Salesforce and Pipedrive strongly preferred
  • Ability to combine sales acumen, interpersonal skills, and flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel to or within the assigned region roughly 50% of the time every month
