Business Development Representative
OpenClassroomsBusiness Development Representative at OpenClassrooms helping thousands find jobs yearly. Role involves lead qualification and prospecting for apprenticeship opportunities in a dynamic sales environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify, qualify and convert companies' needs for hiring apprentices into sales opportunities.
- Prospecting and lead qualification: Identify apprenticeship hiring needs (SMEs, mid-sized companies, large accounts).
- Call prospects to: qualify the request, verify context, availability and urgency of the role, confirm fit with our programs, identify the right contacts (executives, HR directors, Campus Managers…).
- Assess lead maturity (ICP fit, scoring, probability).
- Pass fully qualified opportunities to Account Executives.
- Log 100% of interactions in Salesforce (our CRM).
- Provide accurate reporting on: volumes contacted, qualification rates, opportunities created, market insights.
- Build relevant account maps to share with the AE team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- First experience in outbound sales/prospecting and ability to generate opportunities autonomously.
- Mastery of prospecting: disciplined and organized; able to manage a high volume of calls and your time to ensure strong follow-up and effective follow-ups.
- Excellent communication and phone skills: able to capture attention quickly, build rapport and conduct high-quality conversations, including with C-level contacts.
- Adaptability and responsiveness: comfortable in a constantly changing environment, able to quickly adjust to shifting priorities or processes.
- Pace and seasonality management: the apprenticeship market is seasonal. Able to handle a high volume of leads during peak season and use quieter periods to work on continuous improvement projects.
- Resilience and perseverance: able to handle rejection, stay motivated and pursue goals consistently.
- Curiosity, proactivity and solution orientation: do more than execute—seek to understand, improve and propose initiatives.
- Ambition and desire to grow: motivated to progress quickly in a sales career.
- English: minimum B1 level.
- Nice to have: familiarity with tech and digital roles.
