About the role

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Business/G&A recruiters; foster a culture of excellence, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior leaders across Finance, Legal, Communications, Exec Operations, and other G&A orgs to understand team objectives and translate them into effective hiring strategies.
  • Oversee execution of full-cycle recruiting across the team — ensuring rigor in assessment, high-quality candidate experience, and alignment to OpenAI’s values.
  • Implement and optimize scalable recruiting processes that support rapid, high-quality growth across regions.
  • Identify bottlenecks, operational gaps, and opportunities to streamline workflows; collaborate with HR, Legal, and Compensation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Use data and funnel analytics to track performance, forecast progress, and guide decision-making.
  • Drive advanced sourcing strategies (including diversity-focused pipelines) and leverage tools such as Ashby and LinkedIn Recruiter to elevate candidate quality and reach.
  • Provide coaching to hiring managers on interviewing, evaluation, and employment branding to ensure consistency and excellence.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of business/G&A recruiting experience, with 2+ years leading recruiters.
  • Demonstrated success hiring in both high-growth startup environments and more scaled, complex organizations.
  • Strong ability to operate at multiple altitudes — from strategic planning to hands-on execution when needed.
  • Data-driven approach to diagnosing funnel performance and improving team output.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills across senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-changing environment; ability to guide teams through ambiguity.
  • Proficiency with ATS and sourcing platforms (especially Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, and modern recruiting tools).
