Events Associate
Open Society FoundationsEvents Associate at Open Home Foundation coordinating community and online events across Europe. Support event planning, community engagement, and logistics for various programs.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work alongside the Events Manager to plan and deliver a growing calendar of Open Home Foundation events, including support with logistics (end-to-end venue and vendor sourcing, travel and accommodation arrangements, signage, etc) and budget tracking.
- Support the Events Manager and Community Lead in identifying opportunities to involve community members, contributors, and partners in our events. Assist them in gathering and collecting feedback from attendees and contribute to both the development of our events’ identity and to the creation of a warm, inclusive and community-first environment.
- Support the planning and delivery (including technical set-up) of online community events including virtual meetups, live streams, AMAs, and panel sessions, as well as hybrid remote/in-person events.
- Work with the Community team to promote events across community channels including forums, Discord, social media, and newsletters. This will include event communication (save the date, registration pages) and event content (programs, speaker briefings).
- Maintain clear records of event activity, cost and outcomes. Track and report on key event metrics including attendance, engagement, satisfaction scores, and geographic reach.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 or more years of experience in event coordination, event support, or a closely related role.
- Some demonstrable experience supporting the planning and delivery of events of varying scale, from small meetups to larger conferences or trade show appearances.
- Experience supporting budget tracking and working with external suppliers and venues.
- Adaptability and flexibility when dealing with setbacks and timelines.
- A genuine passion for community and a belief that bringing people together creates real value.
- Comfortable with travel, including occasional international travel for events.
- Professional Fluency in English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- European Residency: You must be currently based and eligible to work within Europe.
