About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze electrical networks and components originating from PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSS/E and CYME to identify differences and similarities with the OPAL-RT environment.
  • Research, develop, validate and implement electrical network components (loads, controllers, machines, renewable resources) within the OPAL-RT environment.
  • Research, develop, validate and implement component conversion scripts to integrate third‑party networks into the OPAL-RT environment.
  • Provide second-level customer support to current and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and electrical systems engineers to ensure smooth integration between simulation models and software functionality.
  • Create example models aligned with current market trends and features available in OPAL-RT products.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's or PhD preferred)
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in power systems (academic research experience also accepted)
  • French is required. Proficiency in English is necessary for reading technical documentation and working with English-speaking partners.
  • Familiarity with real-time simulation (OPAL-RT products: RT-LAB, HYPERSIM, ePHASORSIM)
  • Knowledge of simulation tools such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, EMTP, PSS/E, SPS/SIMULINK, Modelica, CYME and the CIM standard.
  • Experience with solvers and/or modeling of electrical network components.
  • Experience with Python, C++, Visual Studio Code, Git.
