About the role
- Ensure all aspects of the hotel’s engineering are kept to the very best standards
- Carry out a preventive maintenance program to ensure the hotel is maintained and in service for guests
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs or make recommendations for repairs of all mechanical/electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in the maintenance room
- Cleaning and maintenance of the parking lot and walkways
- Ensure the hotel meets/exceeds Opal and Brand quality standards for property condition
- Prioritize and complete work orders from guests and hotel team members
- Respond to and attend to guest repair requests once received
Requirements
- High school diploma or related vocational training
- At least 1 year maintenance experience (preferably at a hotel)
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Must speak fluent English (other languages such as Spanish preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC / PTAC units, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry
- CPO certification – if the hotel has a pool, a Certified Pool Operator license would be ideal
