About the role
- Lead and coordinate protocol upgrades across the Superchain, from planning through execution and rollout
- Drive benchmarking and performance analysis efforts to make the OP Stack faster, cheaper, and more efficient
- Empower the team to deliver upgrades more quickly and safely, improving tooling, processes, and operational rigor
- Build and reinforce a strong shipping culture focused on reliability, correctness, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with product, protocol, and infrastructure teams to set priorities and sequencing for scaling initiatives
- Partner with Superchain teams and external stakeholders to align on upgrades, timelines, and performance goals
- Manage team career development through coaching, continuous feedback, goal setting, and development plans
Requirements
- 2+ years of people management experience, ideally at a high-growth or technically complex organization
- Experience recruiting, building, and retaining high-performing engineering teams
- Experience managing geographically distributed teams
- Strong background in distributed systems, protocol engineering, or large-scale infrastructure
- Experience leading or contributing to benchmarking, performance analysis, and performance engineering (a strong plus)
- Ability to translate complex technical work into clear plans and priorities for diverse stakeholders
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with high technical and organizational ambiguity
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
