About the role
- Own and deliver the vertical scaling roadmap (6-18 months+) for the OP Stack to drive scaling 10x-100x
- Partner closely with OP Labs and Optimism Collective engineering teams and L1 core developers to translate research into actionable plans
- Engage with chain operators, RaaS team, RPC providers, explorers and indexers, and proof teams to understand performance challenges and represent their needs
- Work with growth and marketing to communicate OP Stack scalability via dashboards, blog posts, talks, and ecosystem updates
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data, growth, DevRel and other product teams to identify opportunities and ship impactful scaling initiatives
- Drive meaningful improvements in throughput, performance, and developer experience
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical product management experience (e.g. onchain protocol, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems) OR 3 years product experience with 2 years engineering experience
- Background with blockchains or distributed systems preferred
- Deep technical expertise and ability to dive into technical designs and evaluate trade-offs
- Experience as a software engineer strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ownership mentality, solution-oriented
- Strong understanding of how blockchains work or ability to quickly ramp up in crypto/Web3
