Account Executive – Outside Sales
OOCLAccount Executive in outside sales supporting business development in the Charlotte, NC market. Responsible for building customer relationships and driving revenue growth in the logistics sector.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned sales territory.
- Maintain and grow existing customer accounts through regular communication, customer meetings, and business reviews.
- Develop and execute sales plans focused on revenue growth, customer value, and contribution improvement.
- Support bids, pricing discussions, customer proposals, and contract opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Trades department (pricing/rates), Customer Service department, Operations department, and the Sales department.
- Monitor market conditions, customer needs, and competitive activity to support sales strategy.
- Adhere to OOCL’s competition compliance policies and procedures in all business activities.
- Represent OOCL professionally in customer-facing and industry-related interactions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 4 years of sales experience in ocean transportation, steamship, freight forwarding, logistics, or a related transportation industry.
- Prior outside sales, territory sales, or account management experience preferred.
- Must reside in or near Charlotte, NC.
- Ability to travel approximately 25%, or as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
