About the role

  • From a data standpoint, the role owns all aspects of data management, governance, stewardship, and orchestration.
  • As a part of the data ownership, this role will also own OnMed’s integration capabilities, including the deployment of strategies that drive frictionless, bi-directional, multi-modal, integration with internal and third-party systems.
  • An extremely strong background in analytics and visualization will be critical since this role entails the strategy-through-execution of our analytics strategy, including the delivery productization of our key insights into the health and resulting socio-economic patterns of underserved populations with health equity deterrents.
  • This role sets the technical direction for predictive modeling, machine learning, and all aspects of predictive AI at OnMed - strategy-to-execution. Predictive AI and the ability to truly understand population health and the impact of social determinants in underserved communities is at the core of our enterprise strategy - the leader in this role will have a seat at the table to help drive the same.
  • From a generative AI standpoint, this role needs to be very comfortable with building and deploying an agentic architecture, in a highly secure manner in partnership with the CISO.
  • Our opportunities to optimize and amplify our overall organizational execution using agentic AI is tremendous, and this role will need to identify, prioritize, and deploy high-impact AI use cases across product, operations, analytics, and automation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business leaders to design, develop, and integrate capabilities, guiding initiatives from concept through production.
  • Foster a culture of learning and experimentation, deploying ML and AI in service of measurable impact and customer value.
  • Set the long-term direction for data science and AI, spanning classical ML, large language models, and agentic systems.
  • Lead the design, evaluation, deployment and operation of AI systems used in clinical, operational, and analytical contexts.
  • Build and evolve data foundations and AI infrastructure that meet requirements for quality, security and auditability.
  • Set the direction of data team to produce impactful insights and dashboards, that drives business growth opportunities and operational improvements.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a cross-functional team of engineers, analysts, and scientists.
  • Implement data governance, privacy, and practices aligned with SOC2, HIPAA, and GDPR.
  • Perform other related role’s responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in Data Architecture, AI, ML and/or Data Science roles, including at least 8+ years in leadership positions.
  • Proven track record of delivering AI/ML solutions at scale.
  • Strategy-to-execution across data, analytics, predictive AI, and agentic AI.
  • Advanced proficiency in predictive AI including Machine Learning (ML), including large language models (LLMs), Agentic AI, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Proven experience designing and deploying generative AI systems, with strong judgment around model capabilities, limitations, and impact.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and AI/MLOps best practices.
  • Ability to translate complex AI concepts into actionable strategies for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to influence and align cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on delivery and stakeholder alignment. Strong planning and project management capabilities to drive AI initiatives to successful completion.
