About the role

  • As a Lead Cloud & Data Engineer, you will be at the heart of our product's development, taking full ownership of our multi-cloud infrastructure and backend services.
  • Working within a self-organized agile team, you will build and deploy IQA, the Production Excellence Software that drives our customers' success.
  • Design, build, and scale our multi-cloud infrastructure, developing, deploying and monitoring container-based services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and serving large scale Fortune 500 enterprises.
  • Architect and own our core customer data processing framework powering data integration and enabling new users to onboard at record speed.
  • Develop and optimize high-performance APIs and manufacturing data processing pipelines, directly enhancing the frameworks that power our AI products.
  • Shape the future of our product by co-defining and implementing new features and technical strategies.
  • Champion innovation by researching new technologies and driving knowledge sharing across the team.

Requirements

  • A genuine interest in industrial production systems and our mission to revolutionize manufacturing through a B2B SaaS product.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and the ambition to take an active role in building a fast-growing startup.
  • Extensive experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure, particularly with Kubernetes, major providers (GCP, Azure, AWS) and IaC frameworks (Terraform / OpenTofu / Pulumi and similar).
  • Deep expertise in Python, including data processing libraries (Polars, Arrow, DataFusion and similar) and API development (e.g., FastAPI).
  • Experience with languages such as TypeScript/React or Rust is a bonus but not required.
  • Proven ability in data engineering, including data transformation, storage solutions (object storage, OLTP/OLAP/Cache databases), and pipeline orchestration (e.g., Dagster, Prefect, Airflow).
  • A strong sense of ownership and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and drive projects forward.
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, backend development, or a similar role.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel to our Cologne office occasionally for in-person workshops and to team events.
