About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop machine learning models directly applied to the product, with a primary focus on recommendation, personalization and user behavior models.
- Translate business problems into tangible, measurable statistical solutions by defining hypotheses, metrics, collection strategy, validation and rollout.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data from Onfly’s data ecosystem, including BigQuery, microservices, event streams and tactical data stores.
- Collaborate with Engineering and DataOps on integrating models into the analytical and transactional ecosystem, ensuring technical requirements for performance, reliability and governance (latency, frequency, criticality, observability and cost).
- Run experiments and validations in a real environment (A/B tests, uplift metrics, product impact).
- Evolve the company’s data science stack, influencing best practices, versioning, monitoring and governance.
- Be a technical reference within the data science chapter, supporting discussions on architecture, feature store and consumption via microservices.
- Develop and enhance predictive and prescriptive models applied to the product, expanding the embedded intelligence in Onfly’s ecosystem.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate degree in Data Science, AI or related fields.
- Solid experience building and operationalizing machine learning models in production.
- Proficiency in Python for data science (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM).
- Experience with deep learning and recommender systems (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Ability to work with BigQuery or large-scale analytical data warehouses.
- Strong foundation in applied statistics, experimentation and impact measurement.
- Practical experience with product-oriented data pipelines (batch and/or near real-time).
- Knowledge of model versioning and monitoring.
- Intermediate English for technical reading and updates.
- Nice to have: Master’s or PhD in Data Science.
