About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and coach QEs and SDETs across multiple product teams to ensure alignment with the quality engineering strategy.
- Enable consistent application of risk-based exploratory testing by supporting charter creation, context gathering, and story-driven test design.
- Drive automation maturity by guiding SDETs in the lifecycle of checks, curation of suites, and ownership responsibilities.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to align quality activities with delivery goals and risk tolerance.
- Partner with automation architects, framework teams, and contract regression staff to ensure layered and sustainable automation coverage.
- Establish practices for effective workflow management, including environment lifecycle support, governance, compliance, and incident response.
- Tell the quality story through metrics, coverage mapping, and outcome-driven reporting that highlights risk, confidence, and delivery impact.
- Mentor team members to develop both technical skills (automation, test design, observability) and strategic skills (risk framing, CAS, quality storytelling).
- Foster a culture of responsible testing, innovation, and collaboration across engineering.
- Champion responsible AI-assisted quality practices across the SDLC to improve test design, automation opportunities, coverage analysis, and quality artifact generation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in software quality
- Strong understanding of modern quality engineering practices, including exploratory testing, test automation, observability, and continuous delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor engineers on both mindset and technical skills.
- Proven success in driving cross-team alignment on quality strategy and practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey risk and quality insights to executive, product, and technical audiences.
- Experience with agile workflows, DevOps practices, and working across distributed teams.
