About the role
- Work directly with customers and provide support to Underwriters on the Inland Marine team
- Maintain electronic policy files and ensure files are properly documented and organized according to department standards
- Issue policies using automated systems in conformance with underwriting proposals and binding instructions within 48 hours of receipt from underwriter
- Request and follow up for missing documentation from agents
- Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements of policies
- Issue New Business and Renewals policies within required timeframes
- Handle new submissions including clearance, submission setup and requests for additional information
- Provide customer service by responding promptly and courteously to requests for status updates and information
Requirements
- 1-2 years of P&C insurance industry experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sharp attention to detail
- Self-motivation and problem solving abilities
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload with little supervision and make sound business decisions within level of authority
- Basic to intermediate skills with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
