About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead processes that ensure cancer care trends and the needs of the ONS audience inform clinical products and resources.
- Review and validate clinical and organizational priorities, identify gaps in ONS clinical content, and partner with teams such as Learning & Development, Products, Publications, Business Development, and Integrated Marketing Communications.
- Provide clinical and nursing oversight for ONS products, project teams, external partnerships, and clinical contractors.
- Guide resource and product lifecycle decisions in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Strengthen oncology nursing practice processes to improve productivity, consistency, and quality of ONS content.
- Manage clinical budgets and resource capacity to support organizational priorities.
- Leverage the expertise of clinical staff, contractors, and volunteers to ensure ONS content reflects emerging trends in cancer care and the needs of nurses caring for people with cancer.
- Serve as a nurse planner by planning, implementing, and evaluating continuing education activities using evidence-based educational design and applicable professional standards.
- Support adherence to ONS commercial support policies and maintain provider unit files for nursing continuing professional development offerings.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets to meet strategic, operational, and financial goals.
- Coach, mentor, and support staff, volunteers, and clinical contractors in alignment with ONS policies and best practices.
- Facilitate departmental operations through effective policies, procedures, and understanding of relevant platforms.
- Support team performance, conflict resolution, goal monitoring, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
- Build a high-performing team by creating strong relationships, motivating others, and leveraging individual strengths.
- Lead through change by communicating a clear vision and supporting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a master’s degree in nursing.
- Current, unrestricted RN license.
- Oncology nursing certification.
- Three to six years of related experience, including demonstrated leadership experience in oncology clinical nursing.
- Strong understanding of trends affecting cancer care and the nursing profession.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize scientific and technical literature and translate clinical findings into practical resources.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
