Director of Products
Oncology Nursing SocietyDirector of Products managing ONS’s product portfolio from concept development to market launch. Overseeing product performance and end-of-life strategies in a remote role with occasional travel.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Consults with stakeholders and customers to gain insight into the portfolio’s effectiveness and market value.
- Ensures the incorporation of the voice of the customer in all aspects of product development.
- Translates market and customer needs into roadmap items, product specifications, and designs solutions for new markets
- Guides ONS’s Product Managers’ work launching new products and/or enhancing existing products
- Leads collaborative efforts with internal and external technical sources
- Guides Product Managers’ work developing business cases, product plans and strategies and developing roadmaps
- Maintains evidence-based information throughout products and the protection of ONS’ IP as a market differentiator.
- Increases product efficiencies and price sensitivities
- Serves as ONS’s product subject matter expert for customers
- Supports the needs of the ONS sales and customer success teams in managing customer reports of defects, usability issues, and enhancement ideas
- Develops and monitors annual budgets and corresponding business cases to ensure utilization meets strategic, operational, and budgetary goals
- Remains current with industry standards
- Directs strategic service delivery for areas of responsibility in support of organizational priorities
- Leads change by communicating goals clearly, influencing and motivating others, and developing relationships with key stakeholders
- Coach leaders and professional team members for career growth and development
- Engage direct leadership team to leverage talent, communicate mission, vision, and values, and achieve buy-in
- Directs and participates in leadership team development, performance management, and engagement
- Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related area of study
- 10+ years of related experience
- 5 years of managerial experience in product design, implementation, and/or management
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Gantt charts, and product management software
- Strong understanding of specialty product implementation and client needs
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong written and oral presentation skills including writing articles for publication and presenting information to management, public groups, and boards of directors
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business representatives
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Experience in cross-functional work and team building
