As the Risk Data Scientist your primary responsibility will be developing data-driven strategies and predictive models that aid the identification and quantification of potential risks, enabling the risk management team to ensure appropriate mitigations are in place.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build risk models, predictive analytics tools, and reports that support informed decision-making and effective risk mitigation.
Design and develop statistical and machine learning models that simulate various risk scenarios to identify, assess, and quantify potential risks to the business.
Analyse large and complex datasets from multiple sources to uncover trends, patterns, and outliers that can indicate emerging risks.
Support the Head of Risk in translating analytical findings into actionable risk mitigation strategies.
Create dashboards, reports, and visualisations to clearly communicate potential risks and their impacts to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Work with data engineers to integrate, clean, and preprocess data from disparate systems, ensuring that the data used for risk assessments is accurate and up to date.
Continuously monitor model performance and refine risk models to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in an evolving risk landscape.
Requirements
Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Over 2 years data science experience within risk management, insurance, lending or similar.
Proven track record of applying machine learning and statistical models.
Experience working with large-scale datasets and integrating data from multiple sources.
Proficiency in Python, or similar programming languages.
Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning frameworks.
Knowledge of Large Language Models and related AI modelling tools.
Strong expertise in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and transformation.
Capable of turning data into captivating, compelling and actionable insight.
Able to communicate effectively with both key stakeholders and external parties.
Confident in constructively challenging at all levels.
