About the role

  • Plan, design and steer the strategy for using data in business processes and manage data in systems;
  • Establish group-wide governance (guidelines, principles & standards for data management, integration and related processes) to ensure data quality and consistency;
  • Govern the definition, implementation and operations of the data catalogue and metadata management tool;
  • Steer the definition of the (leading) data management system and their architecture across all data types/domains;
  • Account for the data governance methodology, system and tools;
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging data management technologies / methodologies and define the reference architecture for it;
  • Lead and enforce the definition of the data/information lifecycle (ILM) and principles in collaboration with GDPR team;
  • Define and govern data (domain) models considering end-to-end optimized data flows / data lineage, business requirements, conceptual and architectural models and the data catalogue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree: Technical Studies, Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, Business Informatics
  • Relevant professional experience: more than 9 years in IT area: 3+ years of direct experience in IT Data Governance, including data domain frameworks, metadata management, data quality standards, and compliance, is essential
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure products, Data Analytics
  • Experience in complex data management scenarios in frameworks, preferably DAMA
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
  • Excellent understanding of the business context, all interfaces and interdependencies and manages complex workflows with other disciplines
  • Excellent knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of systems, peripheral devices, and the most sophisticated programming techniques (e.g. Dynamic Programming, Data Structures, A.I./ML, Concurrency and parallelism, etc)
  • Be able to think and communicate the big picture for data, and at the same time, be able to link this to individual solutions
  • Excellent communication and intercultural skills, both verbal and written in English.
