About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Portfolio Analysis & Risk Modeling: Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly delinquency trends (30/60/90+ days past due).
- Segment the aging portfolio by financing product type (PPA, Lease, Loan), geographic region, utility territory, and customer credit tier (FICO score at underwriting) to identify pockets of risk.
- Develop predictive models to identify "high-risk" accounts early in the delinquency cycle (early-stage roll rates).
- Develop predictive analyses that provide cure confidence based on customer, system health, and maintenance inputs as well as the cure value based on lease and incentive value.
- Leverage Automated and AI agents and tools to drive insightful analyses and novel ways to highlight actionable data.
- Operational Collections Support & Strategy: Design, test, and optimize collections strategies (e.g., timing of automated SMS/emails vs. manual phone calls).
- Create and manage daily/weekly operational queues and calling lists for the collections team to maximize recovery rates.
- Analyze the cost-benefit of various recovery methods, including payment plans, automated clearing house (ACH) setups, and UCC-1 fixture filing legal actions.
- Solar-Specific Cross-Functional Analysis: Partner with the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) data team to cross-reference delinquent accounts with underproducing or offline solar systems.
- Reporting & Data Governance: Build, maintain, and automate interactive dashboards (via Power BI or Tableau) tracking key performance metrics like Bad Debt Expense, Roll Rates, and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
Requirements
What you’ll need- Data Experience: 2–4+ years as a Data Analyst, specifically within consumer collections, credit risk, or loan servicing.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- SQL: Advanced proficiency -- must be able to confidently write complex queries, joins, and aggregations to extract data from data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, etc.).
- BI Tools: Strong experience building production-level dashboards in Sigma or other tools, leveraging AI.
- Excel: Advanced modeling skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, macro awareness).
- AI Agents: Experience utilizing Claude, Gemini, Copilot and other AI analysis tools to model and automate insights.
