About the role

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and rapid delivery.
  • Develop and execute the data science roadmap and strategy, aligned with company goals.
  • Set clear priorities and measure impact against KPIs.
  • Integrate predictive and prescriptive analytics into core technology and processes.
  • Architect and oversee scalable, production-ready data pipelines and ML models.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Operations to prioritize and execute high-value opportunities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in renewable energy data science.
  • Represent Omnidian at industry events, conferences, and with key stakeholders.
  • Advocate for best practices in data science and ML deployment.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand needs, present insights, and demonstrate value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of building and deploying models in a production environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in data science leadership, building and managing data science teams.
  • Proven experience building and scaling data science teams from the ground up.
  • Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and experimental design.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and expertise with a relevant data science stacks (e.g., pandas, etc).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark).
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for clean energy and a strong desire to contribute to a mission-driven company.
