About the role
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and rapid delivery
- Develop and execute the data science roadmap and strategy, aligned with company goals
- Set clear priorities and measure impact against KPIs
- Integrate predictive and prescriptive analytics into core technology and processes
- Architect and oversee scalable, production-ready data pipelines and ML models
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Operations to prioritize and execute high-value opportunities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in renewable energy data science
- Represent Omnidian at industry events, conferences, and with key stakeholders
- Advocate for best practices in data science and ML deployment
- Engage directly with clients to understand needs, present insights, and demonstrate value

- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of building and deploying models in a production environment
- 4+ years of experience in data science leadership, building and managing data science teams
- Proven experience building and scaling data science teams from the ground up
- Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and experimental design.
- Strong programming skills in Python and expertise with a relevant data science stacks (e.g., pandas, etc).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark).
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
