About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct due diligence on prospective funding opportunities, including analyzing financial and legal issues, communicating with claimants and counsel, and conducting factual investigations
- Assist Investment Managers in preparing and negotiating term sheets
- Recommend whether funding matters are appropriate and prepare and present submissions to the Investment Committee
- Meet and speak with lawyers and law firms about litigation finance
- Manage funded cases through client and lawyer communications, case monitoring, strategic discussions, settlement considerations, and management of litigation fees and expenses
- Conduct general research on legal, strategic, and other issues
- Prepare submissions, articles, blogs, and PowerPoint presentations on litigation finance topics
- Assist Investment Managers with business development activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- J.D. required
- 6 or more years of litigation experience
- Superior academic credentials
- High-level litigation and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to manage tight timelines and balance competing priorities
- Ability to be self-motivated, results driven, and thorough
