About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Become technically proficient in OMICRON products and solutions
  • Develop, maintain, and foster customer relationships for assigned accounts and segments
  • Manage and support manufacturers' representatives in the Southwest Territory, including training, forecasting, and performance evaluation
  • Coordinate customer visits and activities
  • Present and demonstrate products, technologies, and test methodologies
  • Provide post-sale customer support
  • Participate in business development, market evaluation, and sales forecasting
  • Record and maintain customer meetings, leads, opportunities, and activities in the CRM system according to the OMICRON Sales process
  • Communicate with OMICRON Sales managers and stakeholders, share customer and market data, and report status at team meetings
  • Coordinate promotional activities and participate in conferences, user meetings, seminars, and local exhibits
  • Report to the Sales Manager, North America (West)
  • Fulfill assigned duties and support additional initiatives and tasks as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; or certification of completion of an electronic or electrical technical education, comparable work, or military experience is required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in power systems, especially power system protection or high-voltage apparatus
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience selling testing equipment, instrumentation, or apparatus for the electric power industry
  • Technical knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems and related apparatus
  • Technical knowledge of testing methodologies and maintenance practices for reliable power systems
  • Testing background recommended
  • Ability to present products, technologies, and test methodologies to technicians, engineers, supervisors, managers, and executives
  • Ability to perform on-site product demonstrations with or without Application Engineers
  • Knowledge of electric-power-company, government-agency, manufacturer, and industrial-consumer business processes in the North American market
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written, speech, presentation, and negotiating skills
  • Able to travel domestically up to 50%; international travel may be required
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, and write clearly for customer communication
  • Manual dexterity for occasional reaching and lifting of objects over 50 pounds and operating office equipment
  • Frequent sitting and occasional bending and kneeling
