About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage and maintain the server infrastructure (Windows/Linux)
Administer and build virtualization environments based on Microsoft Windows Hyper-V Server
Monitor system performance and server utilization
Ensure availability and reliability of the overall system landscape
Maintain monitoring systems such as PRTG, SmokePing, CheckMK
Oversee regular system backups (VEEAM) and perform recovery/restore tests
Implement security measures to protect systems and data
Troubleshoot and assist the team with diagnostics
Participate in 1st- and 2nd-level support
Document system adjustments and changes in Atlassian Confluence
Track project progress in our Atlassian Jira ticketing system

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in a STEM subject (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering) or vocational training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker) (m/f/d)
Several years of experience in server and system administration desirable
Solid knowledge of administering Windows environments
Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization solutions
Knowledge of subnetting as well as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
Knowledge of network technologies and protocols
Strong problem-solving skills, structured working style, and analytical thinking
Good communication and team skills
Fluent German language skills and good English skills
