About the role

  • Manage and maintain the server infrastructure (Windows/Linux)
  • Administer and build virtualization environments based on Microsoft Windows Hyper-V Server
  • Monitor system performance and server utilization
  • Ensure availability and reliability of the overall system landscape
  • Maintain monitoring systems such as PRTG, SmokePing, CheckMK
  • Oversee regular system backups (VEEAM) and perform recovery/restore tests
  • Implement security measures to protect systems and data
  • Troubleshoot and assist the team with diagnostics
  • Participate in 1st- and 2nd-level support
  • Document system adjustments and changes in Atlassian Confluence
  • Track project progress in our Atlassian Jira ticketing system

Requirements

  • Degree in a STEM subject (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering) or vocational training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker) (m/f/d)
  • Several years of experience in server and system administration desirable
  • Solid knowledge of administering Windows environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization solutions
  • Knowledge of subnetting as well as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • Knowledge of network technologies and protocols
  • Strong problem-solving skills, structured working style, and analytical thinking
  • Good communication and team skills
  • Fluent German language skills and good English skills
