About the role

  • Contribute to feasibility studies and technical concepts for BESS projects in early development phases
  • Prepare grid connection concepts in accordance with VDE-AR-N 4110 / 4120
  • Develop electrical designs (single-line diagrams, protection concepts, grounding/earthing systems)
  • Draft the electrical sections of technical specifications
  • Support coordination with grid operators and ensure grid-code compliance
  • Analyze technical risks and develop optimization measures
  • Participate in bid evaluations and technical negotiations
  • Provide technical advisory support during due diligence reviews
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Civil, Mechanical, SCADA, Project Management)

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power/Energy Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in the energy sector (e.g., offshore wind, PV, grid infrastructure, BESS)
  • Experience in planning or implementing BESS projects (AC/DC systems)
  • Strong knowledge of relevant standards and codes (IEC, IEEE, VDE)
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems in the renewable energy sector
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments
  • Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving ability
  • Very good German and English language skills
  • Willingness to travel and a valid driving license (Class B)
