About the role

  • You actively contribute to the planning and development of national and international offshore wind farms and thus directly shape the energy transition
  • You carry out due diligence processes and provide well-founded assessments of technical concepts, systems and risks
  • Preliminary planning, sizing and evaluation of electrical systems and grid connections (e.g. export cables, substations) are part of your responsibilities
  • You contribute to the creation and detailing of overall electrical concepts for offshore wind farms — from concept to implementation
  • You independently prepare and review technical documentation, specifications, interface descriptions and contract content
  • You conduct supplier audits, accompany manufacturing processes and take on the acceptance of integrated electrical systems
  • You coordinate technical interfaces between the wind farm and offshore substation (e.g. transition piece, grid connection, emergency power concepts) with all stakeholders
  • During offshore commissioning you support the trades, assist with troubleshooting and contribute to cold and hot commissioning planning
  • Throughout the project lifecycle you ensure compliance with permitting requirements, standards and certification procedures

Requirements

  • You have a degree in electrical engineering, ideally with a focus on power engineering, electrical engineering, renewable energy or a comparable discipline
  • Ideally you have several years of professional experience or initial solid practical experience in the planning and development of grid and energy projects, preferably involving generation assets (e.g. offshore wind farms)
  • You have basic knowledge of network calculation and network simulation and have ideally already worked with tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory
  • Relevant standards and guidelines such as VDE, DNV-GL or comparable rule sets are familiar to you
  • Experience with technical drawing tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN or RuPlan as well as a confident command of the MS Office suite are part of your daily work
  • You think in a process-oriented way, work in a structured, independent and solution-oriented manner and maintain an overview even in complex projects
  • A strong willingness to learn, pronounced teamwork skills and clear, confident communication characterize you
  • You are willing to travel domestically and internationally and are prepared for offshore assignments
  • You hold a valid driver’s license (class B)
  • Very good German and English skills, written and spoken, complete your profile
