About the role
- This role is responsible for overseeing the calibration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of all measurement and test equipment (M&TE) used within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, industry regulatory requirements, and customer expectations by managing the tracking, scheduling, documentation, and accuracy of calibrated instruments.
- Serves as the technical subject-matter expert for measurement systems, calibration processes, and traceability.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s calibration and metrology program.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of calibrated instruments—including selection, onboarding, calibration scheduling, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Maintain a reliable calibration tracking system that ensures all M&TE is calibrated on time and documented properly.
- Review calibration certificates for completeness, traceability, and conformance to national/international standards (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 17025).
- Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities including Gage R&R, bias, linearity, and stability studies.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and suppliers to resolve calibration-related nonconformances.
- Maintain detailed calibration records, certificates, traceability logs, and equipment history.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in metrology, calibration engineering, quality engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Experience managing calibrated instruments in a manufacturing, laboratory, or regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of measurement principles, dimensional metrology, and calibration processes.
- Familiarity with calibration standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements.
- Proficiency with calibration management software (e.g., GAGEtrak, ProCal, IndySoft, or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- High attention to detail and organizational accuracy.
- Ability to work cross functionally and manage multiple priorities.
- Minimal to no travel.
- First shift.
